Meet Ralph Psychic, Medium, Spirit
Many friends, family, and fellow Fraser Valley residents from the 90s will remember Ralph the psychic. He lived in a small apartment in White Rock and was an incredible reader. We all loved visiting him. During my session, Ralph said, “I have both the Georges here.” I instantly knew that my dad and grandpa had joined us. Ralph was the voice for my dad, George, helping to address unresolved matters between him and my mom during their session.
As I write this, I remember the high vibration I felt during those visits, a feeling that lingered for days afterward. I didn't entirely understand why, but I often spoke about it. I would describe it as the excitement you feel after getting off your favourite roller coaster. That was a long time ago for me, and I feel honoured to have recently connected back with Ralph, who is now on the other side. I’ve decided to embrace the concept of guides and refer to my team as Ralph. More about that later.
While meditating the other day, I found myself thinking about Ralph. Later, during a conversation with my husband about our sessions with him, we realized that Ralph was a medium who presented himself as a psychic. This discovery fascinates me. A few years ago, I would never have considered visiting a medium, as I perceived mediumship to be “dark and scary.” However, a psychic told me I was a medium, which changed my perspective, especially as I turned 50.
I want to share my experience communicating with the other side. While in a relaxed meditative state, thoughts of Ralph entered my mind, and suddenly, I was overcome with emotion and cried uncontrollably. It felt like he had showered me with a wave of high-vibrational energy that I couldn’t hold back.
This is what mediumship is about; you, too, can connect with your loved ones. It only requires an awareness of your senses and trusting that what you experience is real. Just sit quietly and say "hi" to initiate the connection, then pay attention to your thoughts. Keep pen and paper handy to write down anything you see, feel, hear, sense, or smell; otherwise, your mind might tell you it’s not real. For instance, if you suddenly feel a pain in your knee, write it down. You might experience a sensation of being “love bombed,” visualize an image of a pineapple, or simply have a sense of knowing.
All these simple sensory experiences are what mediums rely on. There’s a whole language system with terms like clairvoyance and clairaudience that many of us may struggle to recall, so think, "clair" means "clear." For example, if you visualize a pineapple while reading this, congratulations, that’s clairvoyance! Your loved ones know which senses to use to make their presence felt. My grandmother, for instance, had a distinct scent of roses and lilacs. So, whenever I catch a whiff of either, I know she is saying hello.
I’m incredibly grateful to my mediumship teacher, Charlie Kelly, who has a straightforward approach to teaching mediumship. He encourages us to avoid the "woo-woo" aspects, emphasizing that this vital work is about love in its purest form. He intends to demonstrate life after life and to show that anyone can do this. Charlie often reminds us that we are not special and don't possess any unique gifts—communicating with loved ones is accessible to everyone.
